Fell for your Thoughts

Her gaze strayed over to where he stood for the tenth time and those butterflies in her stomach would fly around battling one another when he glanced her way.
Those gorgeous eyes of his saw into her soul, she knew it. She loved the way he smiled when he came to talk to her and it made all those lower places in her go all tingly.
Great Goddess, she wished he would just let it happen. She dropped hint after hint to let him know she was interested. He had to be interested or he would not look at her in that way. But she did not know for sure and there was no way in hell she would ask him.
Those butterflies died a kamikaze death as she thought about being rejected.
It was not like he had to like her or anything. He could like who he wanted. But oh she wanted to be the one he wanted. The one he thought about before he went to sleep.

She had to take a step back from him or she would be consumed by the desire flowing within her soul.
Their conversations were always so much fun and to have him laughing was the best part of her day.
The precipice was right by her feet and she wanted to step off into the abyss of him but she did not know how he felt.
There were days she thought, yes he sees me more than a friend but then a few days later she feels the coolness of his words. Her thoughts shift to, no he is just a friend.
Would she ask? Never.
The fear of rejection was rode her hard so she remained friendly and mute about her deepening feelings for him.

Her gaze fell on the message from him on her phone that asked her if she wanted to go get a drink.
Of course her heart sped up like a rocket on the way to the moon and she quickly typed sure.
They made the plans and her heart would not stop its orbit of excitement.

When she stepped out into the cold winter air and walked to the place where they were to meet she wondered what would happen. Would he sit as far away from her as possible? Would he be just the friend ? Or would he actually touch her?

Her gaze fell on him sitting on a stool at the bar and those damn butterflies went into war maneuvers in her stomach.
As if sensing she was watching him he turned on the stool and smiled.
Yeah, she was lost.
When she reached him he pulled a stool out next to his, inviting her to sit.

"Hi." he said smiling.

Her knees felt like they were melting and she sat ungracefully on the stool.

"Hi. I am glad we can do this again" She said smiling so wide she felt like her face would split.

After ordering her  a glass of wine they chatted about things that happened in the day and she knew tonight would be like any other. Friends sharing a drink.
At least she had that and her heart settled into her stomach with the now sad butterflies.

"I need to know something..." he asked suddenly after a silence had fallen between them.

"What's that?"

"Why do you stop talking to me sometimes. I really miss you." he said with his gaze fixed on hers and she could see a little concern in those dark blue depths.

"I did not want to be a pest. We all know how much I can talk." She laughed and took a drink of her wine and she realized she had drank the whole glass.
Oh dear she felt the tongue loosening liquid starting to work.

"I really like talking to you so don't worry about it. Talk as much as you want. Really. Tell me whatever you want to tell me."

A brow lifted and she tilted her head at him. Here we go.

"I doubt you would want to hear what I had to say if I were to be honest. I want to keep your friendship not freak you out."

"I promise I won't freak out." he said with concern.

"When I ask you to go out you never answer me. You stopped going with me to lunch. You will not even go to a movie with me unless we have a group. So I assumed I had overstepped my bounds at some point and therefore I try not to be that pesty girl." she said in a rush and tried to drink from her empty wine glass.
Fuck.

"You did not overstep any bounds. Not at all. I just don't know..don't know how to handle this unique situation." he said softly

"Damn I did not realize I was a situation." She slipped off her stool to stand and glared at him.
"I wanted more with you than just a friend but I am a dumb ass and should have just recognized you were just being nice."

He reached out and caught her hand which sent waves of desire rushing through her small form. She gasped softly and stared into his eyes, mesmerized by him.
Fuck she was an idiot.

"Wait...please....look.." he said tugging her closer. "I have no clue what to do with you. The whole thing is new to me. I think you are amazing. Gorgeous. Smart. Funny. I have a hard time....even looking at you because of how I feel. I .....shit..."he sighed and looked down at the floor.
She realized at that moment what a selfish thing she truly was.
Here she was worried about her rejection, about her feelings of confusion and desire and this wonderful, sweet, sexy man was feeling the same thing.

Go for it, the butterflies said as they took flight within her stomach once again.

Fingertips glided over his cheek to his chin and she lifted it up gently to be able to see his eyes.
She could now see the worry mixed with the same desire she knew was in her own eyes.

"Hear me out. I know you want to split. I know you want to just not deal with this but please."

He did not move and watched her closely.
She took a deep breath and began telling him exactly what she thought.

"I fell for you and I could not stop the fall no matter how hard I hung on to reality."

His hands settled to her hips and tugged her between his legs while he sat on the stool.
Those butterflies had now turned into mini jet planes zooming around. It was time to be bold and take what she wanted. To just get out there in the unknown lands and see where this goes.

"I fell for your thoughts, the way that you said my name, how you make me speechless. I ache to be inside your mind, hear the whisper of every thought and get lost in your deepest desires." she said softly as she stared into his eyes.
She could see he was listening to her and she pressed her small form tighter against him .
Her heart sped up when she was rewarded for her boldness with him tightening his hold around her.
She reached up and ran a hand over his jaw and kept her gaze on his.
"I want you lying down next to me caressing the soft curves of my face, running your fingers down my back."
Her breath caught in her throat as he groaned softly at her words and she rushed on so she would not lose her nerve to tell him how she truly felt.
"I fell for you. I ache for you. I want you."

The silence stretched for a moment then his lips captured hers in a kiss that stole her soul.
Tasting the bourbon on his tongue as he swept it through her mouth sent her to shivering.
She wanted this to go on forever and felt bereft when his lips pulled away
His gaze was dark with need and something else she was not going to even try to decipher at this moment.

"I want you too. Always have. Always will my little one."

His words send her heart to pounding once again and the mini jets began their orbit of the moon again.

Consumed

The silence had reigned between them and her soul withered slowly.
Why did it always seem to end up this way.
Why did all the words dry up and they left her behind.
She felt like her heart had died another swift death. She did not think she could take another loss like this.
The wind whipped around the tall buildings and she huddled into her jacket and walked towards her car. Cold seeped into her soul and she invited it in because it was the brother to what remained of her heart.

Her steps slowed as she approached her car to see him standing there.
Her gaze met his and shivers of desire whipped up her spine. It angered her to see him there, to feel her traitorous body come to life under that gaze.

His eyes were haunted and she knew something was going to happen.
What that was she was not sure so she stopped before him and looked up at him.

Fingertips itched to touch him, her body swayed toward him knowing that the warmth she needed was there in his arms.

He said not a word and just wrapped her into his arms.
His lips touched hers gently at first then he groaned softly and deepened the kiss.
Startled she did not react for a moment but then her entire soul was set ablaze and her hands grabbed at his shirt as she kissed him deeper.

He kissed her as though he were starved for her. Like he'd been held away from her and had finally broken free. It was the kind of kiss that lived only in her fantasies No one had ever made her feel so...consumed.

When the kiss was broken she looked up at him dazed and he smiled.

"We need to talk." he said softly

"You think?" she quipped and laughed with him,
