Unspeakable
The sunset over the ocean was a purple and pink light show that had her mesmerized. She stood there listening to the waves, feeling the cool breeze slide over her skin and allowing the freedom of the moment carry her away.
Time did heal and it also showed harsh truths. Those were bitter pills to swallow.
She swallowed her pills like a good soul and stepped away from the whirlwind of her heartbreak.
Walking away completely was the best thing she could have ever done. Also the hardest thing she ever had to drag her little self through.
Seeing him walk by unexpectedly and know that she was not on his mind was shattering. But she was good at puzzles and her heart was taped, stitched and pasted back together now. It may not look all shiny and new but she felt it had character with its crisscross of scars.
So she left. Drove away and yes, she did look back and dreamed.
Her favorite was he came rushing after her, telling her he made a mistake but of course, it never happened.
Her dreams stayed within her mind and she now kept this as unspeakable.
A piece of driftwood laid at her foot and she watched the waves slip away for the millionth time.
Wood in hand she looked at the blank canvas of the wet sand and began to write.
In life we all have an unspeakable secret
an irreversible regret, an unreadable dream and
an unforgettable love.
Satisfied she tossed the stick aside, dusted her hands off and watched the stars come out.
"It's not a bad thing to fall in love with me" she whispered to the ocean and turned to walk away.
