Date Night

She smoothed the paper out before her on the table as she felt the nerves twist through her for the tenth time as she waited.
They had talked a little and now here she was about to have a date. A real date.
First one in so long.
Goodness she hoped she looked alright. She tugged at her red shirt and worried it was too low cut for someone like her without a lot of cleavage to show off.
Oh when would he get here....her thought trailed off as he came into view.
Goddess, he was so gorgeous. So tall. Such beautiful blue eyes. And he was here. Here with her.

"Hi...sorry I am late. Parking was a mess out there." he said as he slipped into the chair opposite.

The waiter came over and they ordered wine, discussed the food choices then ordered. With all that out of the way she decided it was time to ask the questions.
how else would she get to know him.

"So,  how about ...." she glanced at her paper and then said. " What are 5 passions you have and why?"

He sipped his wine, his eyes went from her eyes to the paper and then back to her eyes.
"Those are all questions?" he asked with one brow raised.

Her stomach jumped into her throat leaving her mute so she just nodded with wide eyes.
Was this a bad idea? She read so many things that this was a good way to get to know someone.
Oh dear, he was looking at her like she was crazy. Oh no.

He took another sip of his wine then reached over and took the paper from her.
He scanned it over then chuckled softly.

"These are actually pretty good questions. How about we discuss each one of them together. Cause I want to know some of this about you as well."

Her stomach untangled from her throat to slowly drift back to its proper place in her body.
She took a drink of her wine, nerves were jangling and she nodded.

"Ok I will do this first one then you go. I am passionate about family, my motorcycle, good books, being kind, and sex." He grinned at her.

"Oh...my turn...ok..." she stammered and thought a moment. What was she truly passionate about? Her brow furrowed with thought and then she said softly.
"Writing, living well, my 1968 Chevelle, my family, and national parks."

"Nice....1968...hmm...I like the 70's better. Gotta be different." He grinned and she felt her heart lighten a bit.
Maybe this will work out. Maybe she will not fuck this up like she usually does on a date.

"Ok..the next one.....20 random things....this should be fun.." he said with a laugh.
"We may need another bottle of wine before the night is done."

She laughed and agreed. Then they began working their way through the questions one at a time.
